Funicular opening to be delayed | News

From the John Ball Zoo Society Facebook page:

We know many of you were hoping that we would be opening the funicular soon. BUT today we had a setback which will delay the opening to the public and we wanted you to know. 

This morning the technician from the company installing the funicular was riding in the cars to do some programming without any zoo visitors or zoo staff riding. While this was happening, the front car did not level cor

rectly, and, as a result, the roofs of cars one and two made contact. This did result in some roof damage to cars 1 & 2 that we are going to repair as soon as possible.

This obviously impacts our timeline for opening to the public because the safety and comfort of our visitors is our top priority. As soon as the repairs are made and testing completed, we will update the information on our website to let our visitors know the new opening schedule.
