GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A group of children have wrapped up a summer of travel without leaving grand rapids.
Camp Sparkle is a free camp for children impacted by grief or cancer.
It wrapped up this past week at Gilda's Club Garnd Rapids. The program has been around since 2002.
This year's theme was cultural diversity and featured groups like Pacific Island Dancers, Grand Rapids Ballet, as well as Egyptian, Salsa and Bollywood dance.
Jacqueline Scherer from Gilda's Club Grand Rapids says, "We kind of wanted to give the kids the chance to learn about something new and outside of them and their situation so that they can kind of get away and be on a short vacation."
Planning for next summer's Camp Sparkle is already underway.
