GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A group of nuns with a political message are bringing their bus tour to Grand Rapids Friday with a pair of events.
NunsOnTheBus call their tour "Nuns Drive for Faith, Family and Fairness." It is a campaign targeting the Republican Congressional budget plan proposed by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin).
Their bus tour began in Ames, Iowa on June 18th with previous stops in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
Friday's appearances will include a 2 PM event at the offices of Rep. Justin Amash (R-Michigan) at 110 Michigan Street NW in Grand Rapids and a 7 PM "Friend Raiser" at the Dominican Center at Marywood at 2025 Fulton Street.
Saturday, the group will travel to Jackson and Detroit with the tour continuing on to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. You can find their complete itinerary here.
