KENT COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) -- A roll-over crash on westbound I-196 concludes a police chase across the Grand Rapids metro area.

Kent County Sheriff's Department deputies had stopped a vehicle just before 10 a.m. Saturday near the Comfort Suites hotel, which is located just off Plainfield Avenue in Comstock Park, according to police dispatch reports.

The male suspect took off at a high rate of speed and bypassed several red lights. A witness told WZZM 13 "tens of" police cars, including Michigan State Police, pursued the vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle crashed and rolled over around 10:15 a.m. on westbound I-196 at Market Avenue. Dispatch reports initially indicated a one-pot meth lab was inside the vehicle, but an investigation is ongoing to make a determination, police said.

He was taken into custody shortly after crashing.
