GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- On Monday, Aug. 3, police responded to a bank on the West Side of Grand Rapids where a man shot himself.

Sgt. Terry Dixon told WZZM 13 a man walked into the Fifth Third Bank at Alpine and Leonard around 4 p.m. and fatally shot himself in the chest with a 9mm handgun.

Police have identified the man as Michael James Webber, 41, of Grand Rapids. Webber reportedly said something unintelligible before shooting himself.

No one else was injured. One customer and two employees were in the bank at the time.
