GRPD: 2 injured by gunfire on northwest side

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Police are investigating after gunfire injured two people on the northwest side of Grand Rapids Monday evening.

Officers responded to the 900 block of McReynolds Ave. NW, south of 11th St., shortly after 10 p.m.

Police said the victims are a man and a woman, each of whom was shot in the leg. They were taken to a hospital, and police said they believe their injuries are non-life-threatening.

One of the victims was shot in the 900 block of McReynolds. The other was shot in the 900 block of Muskegon. Police are still investigating whether the victims have any connections to each other.

Officers brought in a canine unit to look for the shooter, who hasn't been taken into custody.

The case is still under investigation.
