Junior Reed Kamyszek has been rewarded for his hard work in the classroom by being named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team. The biochemistry major was honored on the Academic All-District team which made him eligible to be named an Academic All-American. The award honors Kamyszek for his performance in the classroom, in the community and on the track.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. native was named to the All-BIG EAST Academic Team in both 2010-11 and 2011-12. Kamyszek is studying biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Kamyszek was named All-BIG EAST in cross country after finishing 10th at the BIG EAST Championship this past season. During the cross country season, Kamyszek finished third at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational in the Men's "B" individual race.  

He placed ninth (14:27.03) in the 5000m at the BIG EAST Indoor T&F Championship. At the BIG EAST Outdoor T&F Championship, he finished 12th in the 10,000m race. Kamyszek competed at the NCAA Division East Preliminary round, finishing 20th in the 10,000m run.
