Walker City Commissioners change Dog Ordinance

Walker City Commissions has changed a law, allowing residents to have up to 3 dogs in their homes. Up until now they have only been allowed to have 2 dogs.

Frank Walsh, Community Development Director said the ordinance has been modified, along with some others, to meet the demands of residents who present requests to the Zoning Board of Appeals.  After he reviewed ordinances regarding animals in the home and comparing Walker’s ruling with other communities, he presented these issues to the City Commission.

The change will go into effect in February 2013. Just a reminder to all dog owners also, dog license fees are due no later than March 1st.
