As promised, I am posting a recipe for some of the most delicious bars I have ever had. I play dominos once a month with a group of gals; we meet for lunch at each others' homes and then play for the afternoon and end with dessert and coffee and this is the dessert my friend Sandy Gensen served this past Wednesday.
She said it took some work but it sure was well worth it according to all who ate them. I hope all of you will try it as well. We have such an abundance of apples here in Michigan, so take advantage as they are coming off the trees.
Carmel Apple Cheesecake Bars
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar, plus 2 tablespoons, divided
